100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia

100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia, Inc. is one of over 100 community-based chapters of the national organization 100 Black Men of America, Inc.

The overall concept of The 100 began in 1963 in New York City when a group of concerned African American men began to meet to explore ways of improving the conditions in their community.
Since inception, the vision has materialized to be shared by more than 110 chapters with over 10,000 members reaching over 125,000 underserved, underrepresented minority youth annually.

Our motto, “What They See Is What They’ll Be” very succinctly expresses how our programmatic services rendered to disadvantaged, disenfranchised and low-income youth and families positively change their trajectory.

Our local chapter, The 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia was founded in June 1996 after a group led by Sam Hart, Sr. decided the Macon-Middle Georgia area, and specifically Macon at the time, could benefit from the programmatic approach of The 100.

We promote Mentoring, specifically "Mentoring Across A Lifetime" through our Troop 100, Collegiate 100 and Emerging 100 Programs. We encourage all youth to expand their educational horizons by promoting our annual College & Career Fair. Additionally, we also actively engage the community with various Health and Wellness Programs in our region.
